Apple has confirmed the much rumored iPad mini, which will start at $329, measure 7.9″ diagonal –two-inches smaller than the full-size model — and will come in two colors, your choice of black and white.
Apple will begin taking pre-orders on Friday Oct. 26 and will ship Wi-Fi models on Nov.2 with “LTE” models shipping mid November.
The iPad mini weighs 0.68 pounds and has a screen resolution is 1024 by 768 pixels, the same as the iPad 2. Apple is also replacing the 30-pin dock connector with the new, smaller “Lightning” connector introduced with the iPhone 5 a month ago.
Pricing for LTE models: 16GB base model costing $459, running all the way to $659 for the 64GB unit.
